What is a bunion deformity? A bunion deformity is called hallux abductor valgus and is a deviation of the great toe towards the second toe. Hallux valgus can be caused by abnormal foot mechanics, contracted Achilles tendon, flat foot, neuromuscular disorders, posterior tibial tendon dysfunction, or rheumatoid arthritis.
If you have pain and a prominent bump on the side of your great toe joint, we can offer conservative and surgical treatment!
The foot on the right side of the pictures below shows a bunion before and after surgery.
